EDITORIAL POLICY & STANDARDSSTANDARDSSTANDARDS
OUR COMMITMENT TO FACTUAL ACCURACY, RIGOROUS PRIMARY SOURCE VERIFICATION, TRANSPARENT METHODOLOGY, AND INDEPENDENT CIVIC ANALYSIS.
PRIMARY SOURCE RIGOR
We cite official government databases (PLFS, TRAI, DoT), judicial rulings, RTI filings, and direct telemetry.
RADICAL TRANSPARENCY
Every calculation formula, dataset, and code repository is open-source and publicly auditable by anyone.
SWIFT CORRECTIONS
Factual discrepancies are corrected publicly with transparent changelogs and zero silent deletions.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Policy and Research Desk operates as an independent civic technology research unit. We do not receive funding from political parties, corporate PACs, or government agencies. Our sole mandate is producing rigorous, actionable, and peer-reviewed analysis on issues directly affecting youth: telecommunication curfews, algorithmic labor precarity, competitive testing integrity, and digital rights.
Every research whitepaper, guide, and report published on cockroach.today undergoes a three-stage verification process:
- Primary Document Verification: Statistical claims must be anchored in verified statutory publications (e.g., Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation reports, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India whitepapers, High Court and Supreme Court judgments).
- Empirical Field Validation: Gig economy telemetry, mileage figures, and payout rates are verified using direct odometers, GPS logs, and signed worker affidavits rather than corporate press statements.
- Technical Architecture Audits: Software and cryptographic blueprints (such as our exam secret-sharing protocols) are tested locally against open-source benchmarks before publication.
While the Cockroach Janta Party adopts a meme-native, satirical aesthetic to engage youth and critique bureaucratic inertia, our underlying research papers, data calculations, and legislative proposals are strictly non-partisan and adhere to academic standards. We critique policies based on empirical human rights and economic outcomes, irrespective of which political coalition holds power.
We believe that intellectual honesty requires public accountability. If a factual error, mathematical miscalculation, or outdated citation is identified in our publications:
- The error will be corrected within 24 hours of verified notification.
- A clear, italicized correction notice will be appended to the top of the article specifying the exact date, nature of the mistake, and the updated data.
- We do not unpublish or delete articles quietly. Substantive retractions will maintain the original URL with a clear explanation of the retraction.
To report a factual error or request a review, contact the editorial desk directly at editorial@cockroach.today.
Research articles are authored by identified members of our Policy Cell, student fellows, and lead systems architect Vikash Kumar (yvkbaghel). Guest contributors must declare any potential conflicts of interest, past industry employment, or advocacy affiliations prior to publication.
